This faithful labrador retriever, Hawkeye, would not leave the side of his Navy Seal owner after he was killed in Afghanistan.
He led the rest of the family down the aisle into the funeral service in Rockford, Iowa.
Although the owner would often come and go, the dog was always by his side through everything and was a huge part of his life.
Upon reaching the casket, the dog heaved a a sigh and dropped down on the ground in front of his owner.
1,500 friends and family watched this act and continued to mourn the Seal. This loving act was photographed not for publicity, but out of respect for the owner and his dog.
Hawkeye would not leave the site, but was eventually taken and looked after by a close friend of the seal.
Please like and share this post if you would like to show your respects to the dog and his owner.
